•  Fort Desoto. G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!  A nature lover's playground, this 1100+ acre park is chocked full of US history (yes, you can visit parts of the original Fort!) along with nature walks, bike / roller-blade trails, beautiful beaches and numerous picnic areas (including charcoal grills for cooking those burgers & playgrounds to keep the kids busy while you relax) and a year-round campground.  Only a 20-minute drive from the Sundial Motel, you'll find 2 fishing piers, canoe / kayak rentals, bike rentals, a gift shop w/snack bar and even a ferry to take you to Egmont Key for a great adventure in swimming, snorkeling and shelling.  Pristine Egmont Key was voted the BEST Beach in the US by none other than "Dr. Beach" as seen on NBC's Today Show and People's magazine. • Sawgrass Lake Park. Don't let the name misguide you.  This nature lover's favorite is an awesome area of lush tree lined canals and ponds with ferns that are taller than you are! This is not a "tourist park", it is an enticing, low-key nature paradise where the admission is free.  You'll see WILD alligators (seriously be careful!), basketball sized turtles and lots of wild citrus groves. • Lions and Tigers and Bears...
